The Tracewell RHP for VXI is the latest in high-power, rugged, ultra-light chassis from Tracewell Systems. Building on a long history of high power VXI systems, the RHP was designed for test systems requiring low weight, high strength, and large amounts of power and cooling. 

Using advanced, laminate-welded construction, Tracewell is able to combine lightweight materials to provide an extremely rigid structure. Beyond added strength and reduced weight, these methods also provide improved shock and vibration resilience. The result is a structure capable of withstanding random vibration levels of 50Gs, yet at just 52 lbs., can be easily handled for transit. 

The Tracewell designed 2150W VXI power system is available in either AC or DC input configurations. The AC input option includes a robust front-end and two DC-DC power modules. For distributed 48V systems, a DC option replaces the AC front-end with a DC input filter module. This fully plugging design provides excellent load transient response, voltage regulation, and fault tolerance, while taking advantage of system airflow to allow operation at extended temperatures. To efficiently manage this amount of power, the 11-slot backplane uses a unique power distribution scheme and high current DIN connectors.

The high-flow fan module is also plugging and can produce 450 CFM of airflow at 0.4” of H20 board restriction. This makes RHP an ideal match for high-end digital VXI modules. An RS-485 compatible intelligent monitor system continually tracks fan speeds, VXI DC voltages, and inlet and exhaust temperatures, and reports current status, operating levels and fault conditions to the host.
